dc.description.abstract Energy is the most important element for people to continue their lives, to run theirbusinesses, to operate their vehicles, and to grow their countries. Balkan countriesgained their independence not so long ago. The infrastructure in these countriesincluding energy transportation and power plants are not new and they need to berenewed with cutting edge new technologies. Balkan countries such as Albania,Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania,Montenegro, and Serbia are not energy-reach countries in terms of energyresources and power generation technologies. On the other hand, Balkan countriesare on the passage of energy corridor from energy rich Caspian and middle- eastcountries to west European countries. This advantage brings opportunities to builtlow- cost and reliable energy plants. As a result, the medium will be more attractivefor new investments to come as long as the countries properly utilize EnergyTransmission Lines (ETP).
