<title>Aplication of Durable Concrete in Structural Civil Constructions of Albania</title>
<link>http://dspace.epoka.edu.al/handle/1/1084</link>
<description>Aplication of Durable Concrete in Structural Civil Constructions of Albania
Golgota, Alma; Qemallaj, Rezarta
Today in Durres, even wider, buildings constructed with durable concrete are very few in now days. Geological studies show that the soil in foundation has low retaining capacity for this city due to high friction angle. This is also one of the other factors that Seismicity of the area is very high, up to level 9 ball of Rihter. The purpose of this article is the production of durable concrete with low permeability of water. The project is constructed in our country and in particular in Durres where groundwater level is higher and the use of space efficiently needs to build parking with underground floor.

<description>Durable Concrete Produced by Local Materials and their Impact in Everyday Life in Albania
Golgota, Alma; Vrusho, Boriana; Xhafkollari, Axhelo
Albanian constructions has been involved in lately updated engineering technologies. Use of durable concrete is one of the most important area in which is being pointed. In this paper I will analyze durability of durable and waterproof concrete, the way it is designed and its conctent, what is the preparation process. All this, will be described according to implementation in some residential buildings in Albania. At the end, will be described how and to what extent the use if these concrete can impact Albanian’s everyday life. The study aims to analyze production and use of waterproof and abrasion resistent concrete produced by mixing materials found in our country with water/cement ratio 0.35 . This creates beautiful concrete with lifespan to the action of car tires in parking areas. All this can be translated in lower economic costs from the traditional way and above all, creates relaxing, creative and healthy environments.

<title>Space, Contractors and Time Management in Renovation of Hospital and Special Facilities in Kosovo</title>
<link>http://dspace.epoka.edu.al/handle/1/1082</link>
<description>Space, Contractors and Time Management in Renovation of Hospital and Special Facilities in Kosovo
Ahmeti, Muhamet; Kelmendi, Sadije
This paper presents an analysis of the state of projects of renovation or rehabilitation of facilities in which the process of daily performance due to the scheduling cannot be interrupted, such as hospitals, schools and other facilities of special importance. Such facilities are specific and renovations are necessary due to facilities aging, but also due to regular needed renovations, but the renovation of these facilities is a challenge for contractors as well as for management of these facilities. This applies especially for management of different subunits spaces that cannot stop the working process, while on the other hand there are numerous problems that arise during the performance of these works, which cause very large delays in their execution and therefore make obstacles for the regular functioning of these facilities. This paper presents the analyses and cases and follow the works of than 3 years in Kosovo Hospital Centre (renovations that have been carried out in all hospitals of the centre), where we analyse the problems related to the execution of works as well as the management problems by facilities management staff. The main objective of this paper is to present the problems that emerge on the management and organization of spaces of these facilities, as well as problems that companies which execute works in these facilities encounter. The proposed solution to this dead end between the management of hospital space and contracting companies will provide the only way to eliminate very large delays in execution of works, as well as to release the soon renovated surfaces to be used for the foreseen purpose.

<description>282-1 Regeneration Program of Urban Areas along Internal Paths Case Study: Historical Central Area of Tirana
Çuedari, Ani
This project-oriented paper aims to identify the characteristics of the urban tissue, geometry, social behavior and moral, cultural heritage of the historical arof Tirana, based on a series of analysis and investigations in site. The main topic is the analysis of the revitalization strategies of the historical area, by intervening along an internal path, modifying properly a very special and delicate urban tissue and adopting the suitable housing typology. This tries to bring to life a methodological contribution to the maintenance and development of dynamisms of life in the old crusts of Tirana, becoming so, an unforgettable experience in both projecting and let it being projected. In accordance with the urban tissue and social behavior of the area, this work gives opportunity to new approaches to regeneration of public spaces in old cores of poor (most of the cases destructive) condition, for meeting the needs of people for happiness, relax and social interaction. The paper aims to represent the role of the housing discipline (density concept), and the street (mainly internal paths of the habituated blocks), in regenerating public spaces of a strong contextual form and history, as a celebration of the public social life.
